To Everybody...

Have a Happy Easter, or a Happy Passover!

I'll be hunting Easter eggs most of the day.

The good part is that I'll get to eat them afterwards, so it's all good.

Hey, your bud Rick Boucher just did something good for the internet. I mean he lost, but he fought the good fight. The House Telecom Subcommittee voted against a measure that would have protected the internet from... well from all sorts of bad stuff. Here's the link from MyDD.

8 Democrats had the right idea, 6 did not. Sheesh, we can almost beat ourselves at that game. The basic idea is that this legislation would keep ISPs from charging websites to deliver their content. Without these protections, you might be able to reach blogspot.com with Verizon, but not with AOL, and even with Verizon, the bandwidth might suck unless blogger pays them a lot of money. And little people or small businesses who want to host a web site can pretty much guarantee they'll get price-gouged out the wazoo.

Anyway, Boucher + Internet issue, figured you'd like to know. Stoller explains it better than I do.
